Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe spoke out recently on his view of the ridiculous salary gap that currently exists between male and female actors.

Radcliffe, who just completed his newest film, Swiss Army Man – a bizarre tale of a flatulent corpse that leads a man to safety – heard about the difference in how much A-list actresses Amy Adams and Jennifer Lawrence were paid in contrast to their male counterparts in the filming of American Hustle (2013) and decided to voice his disappointment on the subject.

“It’s crazy. It is definitely the time for our industry to step up. Especially if we want to pride ourselves on being a liberal, progressive industry then you can’t be doing that.”

Radcliffe criticized Hollwood’s failure to step up its game and move out of the age of a male dominated film industry, and strongly expressed his desire for gender equality in all walks of life.

While Beyonce’s release of her new ultra-feminist video album Lemonade hit the female population hard, it’s refreshing to see a powerful male having the boldness to admit such inequality and show this level of respect for women’s rights to equal pay and better treatment.
